You bet... our cherry finish clocks are made of linden wood and our oak finish clocks are made of catalpa wood.  This applies to the Grandfather Clocks and the Cuckoo Clocks.  The Wall, Mantel and other small clocks are made of select American hardwoods.  You will not find any particle board, pressed paper or veneer here.

What kind of movements do your grandfather clocks have in them?

They have dependable 31-day key-wind movements.  You wind them once per month.   They are totally mechanical and are NOT battery operated.  The movement is driven by the springs you wind instead of by the weights.  The chimes are created by two hammers hitting two chime pin rods.  It is hard to beat these dependable movements.

Do the pendulums swing on your grandfather clocks?

Of course they do...our grandfather clocks are real pendulum clocks.  If you stop the pendulum from swinging, then the clock stops. 

Do your grandfather clocks have a night time shut off switch for the chime? 

No, our grandfather clocks do not have a shut off swich.  However, they have a very pleasant tone. 

What if my grandfather clock arrives with some shipping damage?

In the unfortunate event that you receive your grandfather clock and it has been damaged in transit, you should contact us as soon as possible, and we will ask you some questions to find out what part is damaged.  We will either send out a replacement part to you the next business day or, if it is not repairable, we will have your clock picked up and then send you a replacement.  Because they are packed well, only 2% of our clocks arrive with shipping damage.  This means that 98 out of 100 clocks arrive in perfect condition.

Do your grandfather clocks have a warranty?

You bet they do.  Your grandfather clock has a one year warranty.  If you have a problem with your clock, just contact us, and if it is defective, we will repair or replace it.  The Wall, Mantel and other small clocks have a limited lifetime warranty on the cabinet and a limited two year warranty on the clock movement.  There is no warranty on the Brass, whether functional or decorative.  See the shipping and returns section for more information.

Why are your grandfather clocks priced so cheap? 

Your grandfather clock is being shipped directly to you from the manufacturers warehouse.  We deal in high volume with low profit margins and you still get the same high quality, but not a high price.  We, at Affordable Grandfather Clocks, feel that everyone should be able to attain the dream of owning a genuine grandfather clock and we know that low prices will make that dream come true for many.

Do you have your own warehouse?

Your order is relayed directly to the warehouse for shipping.  Every clock is tested before it leaves the warehouse.  

How long will it take for me to receive my grandfather clock?

Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery.

Is there any assembly once I receive my grandfather clock?

Yes, but it won't take long and it is truly simple.  The only tool needed is a philips screwdriver to insert 8 machine screws.  It will not take you more than 10 minutes from start to finish.  There are excellent instrucitions included.  We pack our clocks this way for safe shipment and so we can  have them delivered by UPS instead of a freight truck that would cost several hundred dollars for delivery.   There is nothing technical about the assembly and set up.  All technical parts related to the clock head and clock movement are pre-assembled and require no further attention.

We strive to answer all calls, but in the event you have to leave a message, someone will contact you as soon as the message is received and within 24 hours.  We can also be reached by email which we will respond to  within 24 hours.  You need to know that, if there is a problem with your purchase after you receive it, you will be able to get the help that you need.  We're here for you if you need us. 

How much is shipping going to cost me for a grandfather clock?

We believe in keeping things simple so we take care of the shipping for you.  By using excellent packing and UPS ground, we are able to ship at a very reasonable rate and so keep the overall cost down for our customer.

Hazel Clocks has been in business in this same location since November 1st, 1994.  Bradford Clocks has been in business for over 40 years.  We believe in working with well known reputable manufacturers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Most definitely.  We use secure processing  (SSL) in our shopping cart.  This means that all sensitive information is encrypted when sent.

How can I get a tracking number for my order?

You can track your order by entering the order number you received in your confirmation email on our Order Tracking page.  Your order status will be displayed.  You can also request by email to have your UPS tracking number sent to you if you want to track the exact location of your package.  Please wait 24 hours after placing your order to request the tracking number.

What if my grandfather clock does not strike the correct hour?

If the clock is new, allow it to operate for several hours before making any adjustments.  If the strike is off, grasp the HOUR HAND ONLY (short hand) and rotate it forwrd or backward to line up with the correct hour on the dial indicated by the number of times the hour strikes.  Rotating this hand independently will not harm the movement.  Then adjust the hands to the correct time by rotating the minute hand (long hand) clockwise being sure to stop at each hour and half hour to allow it to go throught it's  chiming  process.

Do your cuckoo clocks require any assembly?

Our cuckoo clocks do not require assembly.  You only need to attach the weights and the pendulum, as well as insert the batteries.  There is an instruction sheet inside to assist you in the operation of the clock. 

What type of batteries are required for the cuckoo clocks?

Our cuckoo clocks use 2 size D batteries.  These should last between six months and one year, depending on the quality of the batteries.

Is there a night time sensor for the cuckoo clocks?

Yes, there is.  The cuckoo clock will not sound when the room is dark and will resume when the sun comes up in the morning.
